Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park
Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park locates in the southern section of the new central axis of Guangzhou, known as the “Guangzhou Green Heart”. It is the first national wetland park in Guangzhou and the only national key wetland park in Guangdong.
Selected as the “Four Pearls” of the National Wetland Park, and won the 2016 China Human Settlement Environment Model Award, the National Forestry Science Base Award, the National Primary and Secondary School Environmental Education and Social Practice Base Award, and the National Nature School Pilot Award.
The Haizhu Wetland is a typical delta city lake and river wetland type composite wetland system. The river network crisscrosses in the region and the wetland resources are rich, including urban lake wetlands, river gully wetlands, gully wetlands, gully-semi-natural fruit forest mosaic composite wetlands.
Haizhu Wetland plays a significant role in regulating Guangzhou’s urban climate, purifying urban air, regulating urban water bodies, and improving the urban ecological environment. It is known as the “Guangzhou Green Heart” and the guardian of Guangzhou’s ecology.
